Samsung has today launched its latest tablet in the Indian market which comes with an iris scanner – Samsung Galaxy Tab Iris for a price of Rs. 13,499. It is being promoted under the Digital India initiative.
The table is targeted for the use by government and business in the country. The iris scanner included provides biometric authentication that’s certified for use with the government’s Aadhar, STQC, and UIDAI programs.
It features a 7-inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) display, 1.2GHz quad-core SoC, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB internal memory, microSD slot upto 200GB, 5MP camera at the back. On the software side of things, the tablet runs Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system.
As of connectivity, the table supports Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G cellular connectivity. It is powered by a 3600mAh battery.
Samsung will offer the Galaxy Tab Iris for a price of ?13,499. The company has not revealed anything about the availability.
