We have been seeing a lot of leaks related to HTC’s upcoming flagship smartphones — HTC U11 Plus and HTC U11 Life. Now, a hands-on video featuring both the smartphones has been leaked online.
The video provides first look at the new translucent color option for the HTC U11 Plus. Apparently, the company was trying to tease this new color option in its its first teaser image posted on Twitter.
The HTC U11 Plus sports a large display with very thin bezels on each side. There is no home button on the front because of the thin bezels and the company has included five on-screen buttons for menu controls.
The back panel has a glossy finish, in line with other HTC devices. There is a camera lens at the top center, and a fingerprint sensor just below it. We can see a transmitter coil beneath the glass at the back on the phone, which indicates that this device will have wireless charging. As of the specifications, the HTC U11 Plus will come with a 6-inch QHD+ display and will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC running along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
It will possibly feature a 12-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front shooter. The phone is expected to run on Android Oreo with the company’s own Sense UI on top. The video shows improved Edge Sense, along with few of its features. The smartphone is said to be fueled by a 4,000mAh battery, ensuring better battery life.
The hands-on video also shows off HTC U11 Life — the mid-range offering from the company. While the U11 Plus has a glass back, this one comes with a polycarbonate back, likely to keep its cost low.
HTC U11 Life is a part of the Android One program, and thus, it runs stock Android instead of HTC’s own Sense UI. However, there are some additional of HTC, such as the camera app and the Edge Sense feature.
The HTC U11 Life will feature a 5.2-inch display. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 630 SoC, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It is expected to come with a microSD card slot for expanding storage.
There will be a 16-megapixel rear as well as front camera. The smartphone, which is expected to pack a 2,600mAh battery, also has IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
Earlier, it was reported that the U11 Life will be available in both Android One as well as retail editions. While the Android One edition will run on stock Android 8.0 Oreo, the retail edition will have Sense UI based on Android 7.1 Nougat.
According to the leaked video, the HTC U11 Plus will cost 849 Swiss Francs (~ $850) while the HTC U11 Life will be priced at 349 Swiss Francs (~ $350). Both devices are expected to be launched at an HTC event on November 2nd.
