Honor has today launched its new smartphone in India — Honor 9 Lite. The phone, which was originally launched in China last month, will go on sale in India from 20th January.
The phone features a 5.65-inch Full HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. There is also a 2.5D curved screen on top. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 processor (4 xA53 at 2.36GHz + 4 x A53 at 1.7GHz) with MaliT830-MP2 GPU.
It is available in two models — one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage and another with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot allowing users to expand storage up to 256GB.
For the photography, the phone comes with a 13MP primary camera and 2MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, LED flash and phase detection auto-focus. On the front side too, there’s a dual camera setup, featuring 13MP and 2MP camera lenses.
Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS / GLONASS. The device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery which the company promises can provide a full day of usage on a single charge.
Just below the camera module, there is a fingerprint sensor which can unlock the device in just 0.25 seconds, according to the company. As of the software, the phone runs on EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box.
The Honor 9 Lite will be available in three color options — Black, Blue and Grey. The 3GB RAM = 32GB ROM model is priced at Rs. 10,999 while the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model is priced at Rs. 14,999. It will go on sale from 20th January through online retailers Amazon India and Flipkart as well as through authorised offline stores.
