Earlier this year, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Asus unveiled its fifth-generation Zenfone series smartphone. Now, the company is expected to launch Asus Zenfone 5Z is expected to launch in India tomorrow.
Homegrown e-commerce marketplace Flipkart has teased the launch of Zenfone 5Z in India which is likely to be available exclusively on Flipkart given the company’s recent partnership with Asus.
The teaser doesn’t really say anything about what to expect tomorrow, but the color scheme of the graphic and the use of ‘flagship’ seems to be indicating towards Zengone 5Z. Further, the device went on sale in Europe last week and was expected to go on sale in Asian market from this week.
The Asus Zenfone 5Z features a 6.2-inch full HD+ display with screen resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor. It comes in three memory configuration — 4GB, 6GB and 8GB RAM with 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage respectively.
In the camera department, the phone comes with a dual-camera setup featuring a 12MP primary sensor and an 8MP secondary sensor on the back. On the front side, there’s an 8MP snapper for taking selfies.
The phone is running Android 8.0 Oreo operating system with the company’s own custom interface ZenUI 5.0 on top and comes equipped with a 3,300mAh battery.
As for the pricing of the smartphone in India, we’ll have to wait for the company to officially launch the device tomorrow at 8:45 PM IST. Meanwhile, in Europe, the 6GB+64GB variant is priced at €500 (INR 39,700) while the 8GB+256GB model costs €600 (INR Rs.47,700).
