Honor is reportedly planning a launch event in India next month where the company is expected to launch the new Honor 9i smartphone, albeit with another name — Honor 9X. The Honor 9i mid-range smartphone was unveiled earlier this month in China.
According to the report, the pricing of the Honor 9X smartphone could be around Rs. 15,000. It further adds that the company is expected to send out invites for the product launch event of the 9X in the coming days.
As for the specifications, most of the phone’s specs are expected to remain same as the 9i. It comes with a 5.84-inch display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19:9.
The device is powered by Kirin 659 octa-core processor and packs 4GB of RAM. It has three internal storage options — 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB. As for the optics, there’s a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup at the back with phase detection autofocus and a portrait mode. On the front, the device has a 16MP shooter with artificial intelligence features.
The smartphone is likely to come with Android 8.0 Oreo pre-installed with the company’s own custom interface EMUI 8.0 on top. The device supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and 3.5mm audio jack, and is powered by a 3,000mAh battery.
In China, the 64GB model is priced at 1,399 Yuan (approx. $218) while the 128GB variant costs 1,699 Yuan (approx. $265). While the Indian pricing is not yet known, it isn’t expected to be too different from China pricing.
